A ROSE
By Mary Garren Morand ©1996
There was a man who found a rose
among the weeds beside the road.
'Twas just dried twigs and all alone.
He dug it up and took it home.
And there the man...he pruned it back.
He nurtured gently...it did not lack
for warmth and care...for anything...
and within the rose grew hope for spring.
There was a man. He found a rose
among the thorns...along life's road.
'Twas almost dead and all alone.
It touched his heart. He took it home.
And then one day...He saw some green
down by the base...Oh awsome thing!
He laughed aloud...his heart did sing!
And then that rose...It bloomed in Spring.
And then one day there was some green
And then the rose bloomed in the Spring.
