'Fall's a Comin'
I think that Fall's a comin' -
Cause, I'm sure I felt that chill.
The one that signals Fall
Will soon be comin' o'er the hill.
A' draggin' thru the bushes -
And a turnin' leaves t' gold.
An' tellin' all "get ready -
For soon it will be cold."
You know the chill I'm talkin' 'bout.
For though the day is fair -
Ya know somethin' is a stirrin'
In the early mornin' air.
An' ya feel it slidin' o'er ya -
An' ya feel it deep inside -
An' it feels jest almost heavy -
An' it feels real big an' wide.
Yes, I think it's Fall a comin'
'Cause when the day is done.
I can hear it whisperin' o're the hill
"Get ready everyone.
Get ready to see Harvest moons -
An' leaves that turn t' red -
Get ready everybody -
Summer's gonna go to bed!"
Yes, I think that maybe Fall
Will soon be draggin' o'er the hill -
An' givin' us a bit o' Glory
Just before the chill
Of winter grips us -
An' the weather turns t' cold.
An' I tell myself - Enjoy It! -
When the leaves all turn t' gold.
